AGSC Board Considers Changes to Dues Structure

September 25, 2015

The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) board of directors is considering changing the AGSC’s dues structure in an attempt to meet the changing needs of the industry and driving public. The group is considering an update to the pricing model used for the Registered Member Company program, and to begin steps to integrate the technician certification program with the Registered Member Company program.

The possible change comes as the AGSC board of directors has seen a shift in the business since the dues structure was first developed in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Today, many companies have become almost “virtual,” with a minimal brick-and-mortar presence. Some are completely mobile; others are Internet consolidators who refer work to freelancers. Some combo auto glass/collision companies offer auto glass services only at selected locations, or move their installers around on a regular cycle. Subcontracting work to freelancers has become even more common.

The AGSC board of directors is scheduled to present the plan to the membership at the Member Meeting on Tuesday, September 29, prior to the opening of Auto Glass Week™. Stay tuned to www.agsc.org for more details as they become available.
